MARSHALLTOWN MEDICAL AND SURGICAL CENTER Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center (MMSC) is a 125 licensed bed acute care facility located in the community of Marshalltown, Iowa. Marshalltown is located in the heart of Central Iowa, just 45 minutes from the Ames and Des Moines Metro Area, and an hour from Waterloo/Cedar Falls. MMSC serves a 4 county region of Marshall, Tama, Hardin, and Grundy counties in Central Iowa. MMSC has seen tremendous growth in the last few years. With the addition of a new Internal Medicine/Family Practice clinic in the Marshalltown Community, MMSC has added 7 new physicians to our Medical Staff. In 2007 MMSC opened its Cardiac Catherization Lab addition, and in conjuction with the Iowa Heart Center, began servicing the cardiac needs of the Marshalltown community right here at home! MMSC' Women's Care Center sees over 600 births and 200 inpatient/outpatient surgical procedures yearly. Our Emergency Services department houses our hospital-based ambulance service (MAPS) and sees an average of 50 to 60 patients daily.
